PROFESSIONAL MAKATON TRAINING.  Funds are now being sourced to bring trainers from the UK to train South African Tutors.  n the meantime it is planned to provide Advanced Training for people who are interested in becoming Makaton Tutors or wish to reach a high level of skill.  As you are probably aware Tutors are the only people qualified to offer the Makaton Workshops at different levels for parents, carers and professionals.
In order to reach the standard for admission to a Tutor’s course, participants must first have completed a Foundation and an Enhancement course.  The Foundation Course is 4 modules or two days and the Enhancement course is 6 modules or three days. In order to plan this intensive training it is necessary to establish how many people are interested in taking part.  The courses will be initially in Cape Town and Gauteng (Johannesburg or Pretoria).  The tuition fee has been kept low at R200 per module. There is a manual for each module costing R50. The total cost for the two courses is R2000.00.  Payment can be made for two modules at a time (R400) in advance.   To keep down costs participants are asked to bring their own lunches or refreshments. Tea and coffee will be provided.  Looking forward to working with you!  Margaret M Golding M.A.(Ed) REGIONAL MAKATON TUTOR, MAKATON SOUTH AFRICA.  Click here to download application form.
